Server: Add memory to the Dell PowerEdge R440
How to add additional memory to the server Dell PowerEdge R440. Currently, it has 1 DIMM with 16GB. Additional by add 1 more pices of memory, with a 16 GB size.
This sample memory upgrade purchased memory from dell autorize vendor. And check the specs of memory with the serial number of the server.
*The upgraded memory warranty depends on the server warranty (In case the server continues MA, if not, the memory will stand alone warranty).
Here are our steps to upgrade memory to the Dell PowerEdge R440
- Shut down the server and unplug the power source.

- Open the server Chessie.

- Open the memory cover.

- In this example, the server has 1 CPU. So, the memory will be added to the "A" slot. Current 16GB memory installed on DIMM "A1". The additional memory will add a continuous number on the same "A" DIMM. It's DIMM number "A2" (If you have more pieces of memory, add continue as A3, A4, ....).


- Put the memory cover back in place.

- Close the server chassis. Power on check and access bios to check for the memory size is updated.
