Delete the virtual drive and RAID on the Dell PowerEdge Server
To delete a virtual disk on a Dell server, try following the steps below.
- Start the server.
- Hit F10 to access "Lifecycle Controller (Config iDRAC, Update FW, Install OS).
- On "Lifecycle Controller" page. Select "System Setup".
- Advanced Hardware Configuration.
- Device Settings.
- RAID Controller ... Configuration Utility.
- Main Menu.
- Virtual Disk Management.
- Select the virtual disk to delete (This example used RAID1 with 2 disks).
- In the virtual disk, you can check information before deleting it.
- If you select the option "View Associated Physical Disks". It will show like this.
- If you select the option "Advanced". It will show like this.
- So, we will delete this virtual disk, then select "Delete Virtual Disk" from the drop-down list.
- Go
- Check "Confirm" and click "Yes"
- Then "OK"
- Now the virtual disk was deleted.
