FortiGate: Some user (In middle east - Asia) strucking while connecting VPN IPSec via FortiClient

We found some client site (Middel East - Asia) in Saudi Arabia and Dubai cannot connect IPSec VPN to host in Thailand. It will strucking with connecting status after enter the password.


Cause:

It may cause of some .dll missing for windows update.
This may fixed by install the C++ runtime.



Solution:

Download and insall MS Visual C++

x64 (64-bit): vc_redist.x64.exe
https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

x86 (32-bit): vc_redist.x86.exe
https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe


After install / repair successful try to connect FortiClient VPN with IPSec again.
